Die Extreme Metaller WHITECHAPEL aus Knoxville in Tennessee, befinden sich derzeit im Audiohammer Studio in Sanford, Florida.
Gemeinsam mit Produzent Mark Lewis (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, WHITECHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER, TRIVIUM) wird das vierte Album der Band aufgenommen, das im Sommer via Metal Blade Records veröffentlicht wird.
Die deutsche Female-Fronted Death Metal Kapelle D.A.M.N. aus Braunschweig sind derzeit im Studio und nehmen ihr zweites Album auf, das Ende 2012 erscheinen soll.

We will go back to Denmark/Sweden in February to record the guitars, bass and vocals.

RIOT Gründungsmitglied Mark Reale ist an den Folgen seiner Morbus Crohn Erkrankung in einem Spital in San Antonio/Texas verstorben. R.I.P. Mark!

Die Kanadier CANCER BATS haben mit "Old Blood" ein neues Video auf Youtube am Start. Der Song stammt vom kommenden Album "Dead Set On Living, das am 17. April via Distort Inc. Veröffentlicht wird.
In einem vergangenen Interview mit den Blare Magazin, sagte Sänger Liam Cormier folgendes:
"I think sound-wise there's definitely more of the natural evolution of how gnarly we keep getting and how more refined everyone sounds.
I'd say the majority of our fans now have seen our band live and know how gnarly and ferocious it is, so trying to compress that into a recording still is kind of difficult.
Like we'd say, I thought we did it pretty well on 'Bears',' and then we'd re-examine that and we'd see there's still some elements that are missing."
Schwarzer fügt hinzu: "But there's always stuff that comes up with every record, like what haven't we really captured yet.
With doing the (BLACK) SABBATH covers at Sonisphere (festival) and then going into writing this one and thinking about how they had written their songs, we tried to apply some of that into what we're doing.
Different elements are always going to come up when recording a new record.
We'd always ask ourselves, "What haven't we done?" and "How can I make this better?" and doing that made it way more interesting." Cormier continued, "I think the big thing too is the realization that we're always going to be CANCER BATS.
And from looking at BLACK SABBATH, we realized that even though BLACK SABBATH are these four guys, none of them are doing the same thing at the exact same time.
Like none of it lines up at any point but it all works so well, to the point where you don't even notice it.
That was a big thing.
We used to feel that all the parts playing along together would sound tighter, but now we've found that everyone confidently playing their own part makes the whole thing sound tighter and more cohesive.
On this album, nothing sits on top of anything because it's all got its own distinct voice."

Die legendären NAPALM DEATH veröffentlichen am 24. Februar ihr 14. Studioalbum "Utilitarian", also bereitet euch schon mal auf einen neuen Grind-Klassiker vor!
Als Vorgeschmack auf die Veröffentlichung hat die Band auf ihrer Facebook-Seite die Occupy Napalm" Kampagne gestartet, um ihre Unterstützung für die Occupy Bewegung zu zeigen und die Fans über Neuigkeiten und die politischen Motive hinter "Utilitarian" zu informieren.

3 INCHES OF BLOOD - geben neuen Bassisten bekannt!
Mit jedem Album und jeder gespielten Liveshow widmen sich 3 INCHES OF BLOOD zu 110% dem traditionellen Heavy Metal.
Mit Byron Stroud (Fear Factory, ex-Strapping Young Lad) komplettierten sie auch ihr Line-Up und füllten die vakante Position am Bass.
Nachdem Stroud und die Band bereits in vielerlei Hinsicht kooperierten brennt Stroud nun darauf weiteren kreativen Input zu geben.
"Ich freue mich extrem endlich bekanntzugeben, dass ich mich meinen Brüdern von 3 INCHES OF BLOOD angeschlossen habe", sagt Stroud.
"Aktuell proben wir für die anstehenden Tourneen zu "Long Live Heavy Metal".
Vor einiger Zeit fragte mich die Band, ob ich sie nicht managen wollte.
Wir proben in meinem Bike Shop, ich bin bereits mit ihnen getourt und finde es extrem spannend an so vielen verschiedenen Aspekten des Albums beteiligt zu sein.
Als Band blicken wir äußerst zuversichtlich in die Zukunft. Wir sehen uns auf Tour."
"Long Live Heavy Metal" erscheint am 23. März in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz.
Eine Europatournee ist bereits in Arbeit.
